I'm considering an upgrade from my Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 9800x3D to improve my gaming and productivity performance. My current specs are an RTX 4070 Super GPU, 32GB of DDR4-3600 RAM, and I'm playing a variety of demanding games at 2560x1440 resolution. However, I'd also need to buy DDR5 RAM and a new motherboard, which would bring the total cost to about $1,086. Given the current high prices of components, should I go through with this upgrade now, or would it be better to wait for prices to drop?

Considering the prices of RAM right now, if you really want an upgrade, I'd suggest looking at the Ryzen 7 5800X3D instead. It avoids the hassle of needing a new motherboard and is just a straightforward CPU swap.

That sounds good, but aren’t the 5800X3D hard to find and expensive now?
