I'm a bit clueless when it comes to using my laptop with an external monitor, and I really dislike having both screens active at the same time while gaming. What are some ways to turn off my laptop monitor?

Don’t forget you can also manage display options directly from the Display tab in the Settings menu!

You might also want to check your laptop’s manual for specific key combinations to turn off the display, as it could vary by model.

If you're on Windows 11, try going to Settings > System > Power and battery > Lid, power, and sleep controls. There, you can set 'Closing the lid will make my PC' to 'Do nothing' for both plugged in and battery modes. Then just close your laptop when you want to game on the external monitor!

Good tip! Just make sure you're okay without a keyboard if you're closing the lid.

You can easily do this by pressing the Windows key + P and choosing the 'Second screen only' option. This will disable your laptop's screen and keep only the external monitor active.
