Advice Needed for Choosing a GPU and PC Setup

I'm building a new PC and considering an ASRock B650M motherboard with a Ryzen 7 7700 processor and a single 32GB DDR5 RAM stick. My main questions are whether the CPU will be an early bottleneck in performance and if my current GPU will suffice for now until I upgrade. I'm aiming for a GPU with around 24GB of VRAM, but with prices being what they are, I'm thinking the RX 7800 or something similar might be my best bet. I chose the single 32GB RAM stick due to the high prices, with plans to add more later to reach 64GB. Any thoughts on my setup and the GPU options?

I'd suggest going for a dual-channel setup with 2x16 GB RAM instead of just one 32 GB stick. It really helps with performance in a lot of scenarios. Plus, AMD cards are generally cheaper than NVIDIA, so keep that in mind when picking your GPU!

In terms of gaming, the Ryzen 7 7700 is comparable to the R5 9600x and can compete with the R7 9700x pretty closely. Many people pair the R7 9700x with GPUs like the 5070TI or 9070XT without issues, so the 7700 should be just fine for you. That’s actually the same setup I’m considering!

That's good to know! As resolution increases, the GPU takes more of the workload, so if you plan to game at 1440p or even 4k, it makes sense to save money on the CPU.
