How Can I Set Up Permissions for Specific Subfolders on My NAS?

I'm exploring file permissions on my Synology NAS and need some help. I've set up a shared folder that's accessed as a mapped drive on a Windows client. The share permissions for the "GRP-STAFF" group are set to full 'Read'. However, I'm trying to figure out how to list the subfolders within this shared folder (like 'Attendance', 'Behaviour', 'Rewards') for all members of the group, but restrict access so that they can't open them without proper permissions. Currently, the settings I have only allow members to see the subfolders but nothing inside them. I want to make it so they see the names of the subfolders but receive an 'access denied' message if they try to open them unless they're part of specific groups. Any advice on how to achieve this?

You can achieve your goal by using the Advanced settings on the security tab of your shared folder. Just add the group that needs to see the folders but not access them. Make sure to allow 'List Folder/Read Data', and select the 'this folder only' option to ensure it doesn't affect the subfolders or files.

I tried that approach earlier, but it didn’t show the subfolders as intended. It looked empty to users. Do I need to adjust permissions for each subfolder individually? I'm okay with configuring it manually.
