I'm wondering if there's any way to get a recording of a phone call I received recently. The call was from a no caller ID number, and the person on the other end was really aggressive. I initially thought I could record it using my phone's screen recording feature, but I've been told that's not how it works. This is important for legal reasons, and I use an iPhone, if that makes any difference. Any advice would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, it's not possible to retrieve a past call recording on your iPhone. Apple restricts screen recording of call audio, and your phone provider typically doesn’t save recordings either. Also, consider checking the laws where you live because in many places you need consent to record conversations.
If you really need to have a recording for future calls, you might want to invest in a handheld voice recorder for those old-school vibes. You could also ask for call-back numbers for clarity if the call gets disconnected. Just remember, that method may not be foolproof for tracking down who called you.
In iOS, the only way to record a call is by using the new call recording feature, but the other party will hear a warning message saying they’re being recorded. So while it’s technically possible, you wouldn’t have been able to do that retroactively for the call you mentioned.
I didn’t know about that feature! Thanks for the heads up for next time!

I didn’t realize it was so complicated! I checked and it’s actually legal to record calls where I am without consent, but I guess that doesn’t help me now.
