I've been hearing that GPU prices might rise soon due to recent RAM price hikes. I'm considering upgrading my current GPU, an RTX 3080, which I've had for three years, to an RTX 5070 Ti. Should I go for the upgrade now or hold off for a while?

If you have the cash and want a real upgrade, the 5070 Ti is a solid pick at MSRP, but don’t expect prices to drop soon. It's a good time to invest if you're going to use it.
Upgrading sounds like a good idea! The extra VRAM with a new card will keep you going strong for the next few years.
The 3080 should still serve you well for a while longer. You might want to wait it out before making a move.
Before making a decision, think about whether you truly need an upgrade right now. Are you ready to spend around $750 on a new card?
Your RTX 3080 is still a strong card. Only upgrade if you're feeling bottlenecked in games. Otherwise, hang tight and see how prices fluctuate.

With all the new technologies coming out, like DLSS and frame generation, I'm tempted to upgrade.
