Why Is My CPU at 100% While Gaming with High Graphics Settings?

I've got a 7900XT along with a 2700X CPU, and I'm facing really low frame rates of around 50-60 on extreme settings without frame generation. I suspect the CPU is the bottleneck, and I just ordered a 5700X3D that should arrive after Christmas. With max graphics settings, shouldn't the load be shifted from the CPU to the GPU? Are there any tweaks in Windows or Adrenalin that could help boost GPU utilization, or is it all because my CPU just isn't powerful enough?

Some graphics presets can actually increase the CPU load, which might lower your overall FPS. It's essential to keep an eye on settings that can be too demanding on the CPU when you're trying to achieve higher frame rates.

Which settings specifically can increase CPU load?

What resolution are you playing on? A 7900XT at 1080p won't utilize the GPU fully no matter the CPU. You should see better utilization at 1440p or 4k. But you're right; the 2700X is limiting performance. Just hang tight for that 5700X3D to arrive!

I play at 1440p. I read that the 7900XT is excellent for that, which is why I got it. Thanks for clarifying!
