I've been considering upgrading my PC for gaming because I've recently started playing Battlefield 6 and my performance doesn't feel optimal. I'm currently running a Ryzen 7 5800X and I'm wondering if upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D is worth it in terms of price versus performance. Should I invest in this upgrade, or would it be better to save up for an entirely new setup?

I'd skip the X3D upgrade unless you have cash to burn. The performance increase is marginal for the price right now. Focus on getting another 16GB of RAM instead. That upgrade will likely provide more immediate benefits for gaming without breaking the bank.
Upgrading to the 5800X3D would give you a performance boost, but honestly, it might not be worth the current price tag. Instead, consider adding more RAM—16GB more could really help your system right now. The RAM situation is tricky and prices are rising, so if you can grab another stick, that could be your best bet!
If you already have the 5800X, I’d suggest holding off on the upgrade. The 5800X3D is sought after, and the prices reflect that—it might not be worth it at this point. Instead, think about upgrading your GPU or other components like your cooling or power supply to improve overall longevity. Adding RAM could also help, especially since you're gaming on BF6.

Good point! I'm also considering my cooling situation. Does undervolting really help much with these CPUs?
