I recently had an issue with the power button wire in my CPU case coming loose while I was cleaning. I found a workaround by using a screwdriver to cold start the PC, and I also set the BIOS to automatically switch on when power is supplied. This was working for a few times, but after a recent power outage, my PC won't turn on anymore. The cold start method isn't working either. I still see power getting to the RGB lighting on my mouse, so it seems the USB port is functioning, but I'm not sure what else to check. Is it possible my motherboard is damaged, or is there something else I can do to get my PC to power on again?

Make sure to fix your power switch properly. Jumping or shorting the contacts like you did isn't ideal for the long run. Even though you got it to work for a while, it's not a solution. After the power outage, things can get glitchy, so it's worth checking those hardware connections as well.
It's tough to say for sure, but it could either be a motherboard issue or the power supply unit (PSU). Just because your mouse's RGB lights up, it doesn't necessarily mean everything's fine with the power supply—it's important to check that power is stable across all connections. Try disconnecting the power cable from the back of the PSU for a few minutes, then reset the BIOS. You can do this by removing the battery or using the reset switch or pins if your motherboard has those.
