I'm looking for advice on setting up a smartboard that will display an interactive organizational chart. The goal is that when someone taps on a person's name, it should pop up their photo and bio, and also show their direct reports. The smartboard itself shouldn't be a problem, but I'm unsure how to implement the org chart functionality. I also need this to work offline or be locked down to prevent any inappropriate access or random casting. Any thoughts on where to start or what tools I might use?

Workday has this feature built-in, which might be worth looking into. I think there are also add-ons for websites that can help with this, but I'm not entirely sure since I'm not in IT. Maybe check with your IT team?
You might consider using a touchscreen monitor with a local web server. You can get someone to design an interactive website that includes the features you're looking for. It's probably not too complex, and then you could mount a small form PC on a rolling stand. Just make sure it's plugged in!
Have you thought about making it a website? It seems like that could provide the org chart functionality you need. Just set it up so it can be accessed easily on the smartboard!
You could actually do something like this in PowerPoint. Just create clickable links that navigate to different slides for bios and expanded views of direct reports. Clicking on a bio could take you to another slide, and you can have links to go back. It might not be the easiest method, but it could work!
Most smartboards are basically large touchscreen TVs with a computer behind them. If you can run the software on a computer, you should be good to go on a smartboard as well. It might be worth reaching out to office equipment retailers for guidance on what to buy, since it's been a while since I dealt with them directly.
