I've run into a serious issue while trying to install Windows 11 on my MSI Cubi5. Recently, an update crashed my system, and when I rebooted, I found that the start menu and taskbar had disappeared, and I couldn't connect to the internet or any Bluetooth devices. A recovery install helped me regain Wi-Fi and Bluetooth access, but I wanted a fresh start. I used the media creation tool to write the Windows 11 installer to two USB drives just to be safe.
However, when I attempted to do a fresh install, everything went smoothly until the installation reached the drive partitioning and unpacking files stage, at which point it failed and rebooted. I tried using both USB drives, but got the same error.
Now, my Samsung 990 Pro drive doesn't have Windows on it, and I have no other computer available. I managed to download the Windows 11 ISO on my Android and created a new USB drive using EtchDroid. It boots up fine, but it keeps asking for a storage controller driver. The only one available on Samsung's support site is an .exe installer, which I can't use. What should my next steps be? Can anyone point me to the right storage controller driver, or do I need a different image that includes these drivers?

You can grab the necessary drivers from MSI's support page for your Cubi5. Just head to their website, find your model, and look for the driver section. Put those drivers on a USB stick and tell the installer to look there during the partitioning process. That should help!
That’s odd since my Samsung 990 Pro originally let me install Windows 11 without needing extra drivers. If it auto-detected everything before, it should still work now, right?
Sounds like a frustrating situation! Have you considered re-evaluating your installation media? Sometimes using a different Windows 11 ISO that includes updates or drivers helps, or even checking if you're using an older version of the installer—newer versions can handle drivers better, so that might be worth a shot!
I've been considering that. It’s just confusing since the last two installs failed even though they detected drivers before. Maybe the image I'm using is corrupted or something.
If you go the ISO route, make sure it’s the latest version, as MS often includes more drivers in their updates. Good luck!

Tried that, but it’s been a mess. I downloaded everything from MSI, extracted it onto the USB, but the installer won't acknowledge any of the drivers I provided. I need a boot-time driver for my storage controller, not just the standard packages.
