I'm currently using a 1070 Ti, and it's starting to feel outdated. I'd love to upgrade to a 5070, which costs around $520, but I'm on a budget and don't want to do a complete system overhaul right now. My setup features a Ryzen 1700 processor with 16GB of DDR4 RAM on a B350 motherboard, and I made sure to get a solid power supply (750 or 850 watts) when I built the system, so that's not an issue. Given my current GPU situation and concerning future price hikes on graphics cards, is it crazy to consider this upgrade?

Upgrading individual parts has always worked for me. Sure, your CPU might bottleneck the 5070 a bit, but it’ll still be a noticeable performance boost compared to your 1070 Ti. If down the line you decide to swap in a Ryzen 5600X or something similar, you’ll see even better gains without the need to replace everything.

How much of a bottleneck are we talking about? I mainly play less CPU-intensive games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk. Sometimes, my new OLED makes the lower quality graphics hard to watch.
