I'm having trouble finding non-ECC DDR5 RAM. Is this a problem for software that specifically requires non-ECC RAM?

I've never encountered a compatibility issue with ECC RAM myself. Are you talking about server-grade ECC RAM? Or just standard DDR5 with basic ECC? The latter is common because DDR5 has built-in error correction due to its speed. However, on consumer motherboards, ECC won't function fully; it will just be inactive in most cases.
Remember, DDR5 has on-die ECC built into its specs. It's not the same as traditional ECC, so you should be good to go if that's what you're using.
You might be confusing ECC with registered or buffered RAM. All DDR5 modules inherently have a basic form of ECC. That's built into their design, so there’s nothing to worry about!
What software are you trying to run that requires non-ECC RAM?
You don't need to worry! There aren't any true ECC DDR5 options available for consumers right now. Just try running your software—it should work without issues!
I assume the user already has ECC memory installed, so trying it out is the best way to go.

I'm looking at exocad for my work.
