Hey everyone, I'm at a crossroads with my current PC setup. Here are my specs: I've got a 13700KF CPU, a TUF B760M motherboard, and I'm running 2x16GB of DDR4 3600 CL18 RAM along with a 4070Ti GPU. I built this rig back in July 2023 and planned on using it for the next five years without needing significant upgrades. However, I've been noticing the rising RAM prices, and it's got me worried that in a few years, I might not be able to afford a new PC if prices continue to climb. So, I've been considering a few options:
1. **Upgrade only to DDR5**: My CPU supports both DDR4 and DDR5, so I could swap out my motherboard and RAM for around $750. I know there have been talks about 13th gen Intel CPUs having issues, but mine has been running smoothly without a single blue screen.
2. **Upgrade and switch to AM5**: This would require a new CPU and would cost around $1200 for a 9800X3D, RAM, and motherboard.
3. **Just wait and see**: I'm not expecting prices to drop anytime soon, but it could stabilize, and maybe I'll be able to save up enough to make a better decision later on.
What do you all think? Should I jump and upgrade now or just hold off?

Is there anything your current PC can't handle? If everything's running fine and you're not experiencing any limitations, it may not be worth the upgrade right now.
Honestly, it sounds more like a panic buy. Your DDR4 3600MHz is already pretty solid, and unless you’re chasing something like the Intel Core Ultra series or AM5, it might not be necessary to upgrade just yet.
I think waiting is the best move. Save some money and see where RAM prices go over the next couple of years. If prices do go down, you'll have a bigger budget for your upgrade.

That's a good point! I guess I just don't want to be caught off guard if prices skyrocket in a few years.
