Looking for PC Upgrade Advice

I've been using a prebuilt PC for about one or two years, and I'm experiencing a CPU bottleneck that's affecting the framerate in many games. I've done some optimization through YouTube tutorials, but I think an upgrade is necessary now. Here are my current specs:

* GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050
* CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 4100 (4-core Processor)
* CPU Cooler: Not sure about the details
* Motherboard: Gigabyte A520I AC
* RAM: 16GB Corsair (2x8GB)
* HDD: None
* SSD: Kingston NV2 500GB
* PSU: Unknown, worried about taking the prebuilt apart
* Case: Not important at the moment

I don't know much about PC parts and have heard some websites recommend upgrades that might not be necessary. I want to focus on essential components that will boost my performance to match my GPU.

Upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5500 or even a 5700X could be a solid choice. You might need a BIOS update for it to work with your board. Depending on your GPU load, ensure you also have a PSU with at least 750W. And you should definitely consider adding another 8GB RAM stick for more efficient multitasking!

I can spend around £1000, maybe a bit more if needed.

If you want a good boost, consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600. It should work with your motherboard after a BIOS update. Pair it with a 16GB graphics card like the 6600 XT or a 3060 Ti and that’ll significantly improve your performance. Just make sure your power supply can handle it!
