I'm looking to build a gaming PC that can handle 1440p gaming at a minimum of 144fps. My budget is around £800-900, but to be honest, I'm quite new to all this PC building stuff. There's so much information out there, and it's hard to tell what's good and what's not. Should I go for a pre-built machine, or would it be better to gather parts and build it myself? Any suggestions or advice would be very welcome!

Honestly, hitting 144fps at 1440p can be quite challenging within that budget. You might want to consider saving a bit more to invest in a higher-end GPU, like a used RTX 4080 or 4090, which can handle those requirements more comfortably. It could take you a year or so to save up, but it would make a big difference for gaming performance!
Thanks for clarifying the budget in GBP! Given the current market for parts, you’re likely going to find it tough to hit your goal, especially if you’re starting from scratch. You may be able to get some games running at 1440p and 144fps, but probably only on lower settings. It might be best to focus on getting a solid PC first and think about the monitor later.

That makes sense! I’m okay with lower settings if that helps me stay within budget. I appreciate the tips!
