Why is my new PC underperforming despite decent specs?

I've recently built a new PC with specs including an RTX 3050 graphics card, an Intel Core i5-12500 CPU, and 16GB of RAM. However, I've noticed it's not performing well in various games like Hitman, GTA, FIFA, and even lighter titles like Minecraft and the new Schedule 1. While monitoring the performance, I see that both the CPU and GPU are only being utilized at about 40-50%, yet I'm struggling to maintain a stable 60 FPS, often fluctuating between 40 and 50 FPS. My previous rig, which had lower specs (a GTX 1650 and an older Intel i5 with only 8GB of RAM), handled these games much better. I'm really curious about what could be causing these performance issues. Is there something limiting the performance of my GPU and CPU?

It's also worth looking into the power settings. Make sure your PC isn't set to a power-saving mode as that can throttle the performance. Check your GPU settings and ensure it's running at maximum performance. Sometimes, adjusting these settings can make a big difference!

Good point! I’ll definitely dive into the power settings and see if there's any throttling going on.

Have you checked what else might be running in the background? Sometimes, background processes can hog resources without you even realizing it. Open up the Task Manager and see if there's anything using a lot of CPU or disk resources while you're gaming. Even something as simple as Windows Update can slow things down.

Yeah, I've had that happen before. I had a game stutter because of a Windows service running updates in the background. Always good to check!
