I bought my gaming PC about a year ago after saving for three years, but I've been having a lot of issues since I got it. My FPS is significantly lower than it should be for all the games I play, fluctuating between 70 to 300 FPS less than expected based on my specs. The CPU overheats, reaching 98-100 degrees, and though I've managed to undervolt it to maintain around 78-84 degrees, I'm still experiencing performance issues. For example, in Call of Duty Warzone, I only get 90-100 FPS regardless of the settings, while Fortnite gets about 144 FPS in performance mode, but it isn't stable. Even Forza Horizon 5 struggles to maintain high FPS, only getting around 100 on ultra settings at 1080p. I'm constantly monitoring temperatures with HWInfo and MSI Afterburner but can't seem to identify the root cause. I'm really confused and frustrated as I feel like I'm not receiving the value for the money I spent. Here are my specs: RTX 3060 Ti 8GB OC Triple Fan Gigabyte, Intel i5 11400F, 16GB RAM (in single channel), MSI B560M Pro E motherboard, and the Intel stock cooler.

It sounds like the CPU throttling could definitely be affecting your FPS. If it was overheating before, it could impact performance even after undervolting. The first step I'd recommend is upgrading your CPU cooler to something more efficient, as the stock cooler really doesn't cut it. Also, having RAM in single channel mode can slow things down even further, so check if you can run it in dual-channel for a boost. Finally, make sure to run a stress test like Cinebench to see what speeds your CPU can actually hit now.

Yeah, I would suggest upgrading the cooler too, even a basic one can make a difference. And check your RAM speed; it might not be running at its rated speed!
