For the last few months, I've been dealing with a frustrating issue where my computer randomly turns off my monitor, but the PC itself stays on. This mainly happens when I play simulation games like BeamNG, Assetto Corsa, Motor Town, and ATS, regardless of the resolution. When the monitor shuts off, I usually have to unplug the DisplayPort and plug it back into another slot, but sometimes it doesn't even recognize the connection unless I restart my computer. Strangely, this problem didn't occur when I first got my GPU. Here are my specs:
- **Operating System:** Microsoft Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.26100
- **DirectX Version:** DirectX 12
- **Driver:** Game Ready Driver - 572.83 - Tue Mar 18, 2025
- **CPU:** 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11600KF @ 3.90GHz
- **RAM:** 32.0 GB
- **Storage:** SSD - 465.8 GB, HDD - 3.6 TB
- **GPU:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080
I wish I could share a video of the issue, but I'm having trouble uploading it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tested the monitor on a different PC or tried a different display altogether? Also, it could be helpful to try a different cable or even use HDMI instead of DisplayPort and see if the issue persists. Lowering the refresh rate might help too!
It sounds like a driver issue. Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling your graphics drivers using the Display Driver Uninstaller? It might clear up any conflicts that are causing the monitor to shut off.
Yeah, I did try that, but it still happened. Thanks for the suggestion!
I once had a similar issue where the monitor would turn off due to GPU sag when my pets bumped the desk. Have you experienced any physical movements around your setup that could affect connections?
I doubt that's it since my desk is pretty sturdy and no one shakes the computer. Appreciate your input!
This might be a problem with your video card overheating, especially when you're gaming. Does the monitor go black even when you're not playing?
No, it doesn’t turn off when I’m not gaming. It just happened recently while I was playing, but the temps were around 80°C, which I thought was normal for the 3080.
I tried everything you mentioned! I even got a new DisplayPort cable and new monitor, but the issue wasn't there when I tested my monitor on my brother's PC, so that rules those out.
