Should I Choose 1080p or 1440p for My New Monitor with a 9060 XT?

I'm upgrading my PC by swapping out my old 1660 for a 9060 XT 16GB and pairing it with my Ryzen 5600X. Currently, I'm using a really outdated 21.5 inch LG IPS monitor with a 60Hz refresh rate. I'm considering getting a new monitor, but I'm torn between 1080p and 1440p. As a heavy single-player gamer, I don't really play multiplayer games, and I'm not looking for high FPS, just the ability to play the latest releases at around 60 FPS for the long term. So, what should I go for: a 1080p or a 1440p monitor?

Definitely go for 1440p. If you stick with 1080p, you might find your card is underutilized with that CPU. And trust me, the image quality difference is huge! Just be sure to get a monitor that supports at least 100Hz for a smoother experience.

If you're leaning towards 1440p, you might want to consider getting a 9070. It will serve you well at that resolution in case you run into any performance bottlenecks.

I agree, 1440p is where it's at! Even with some demanding games, you should still be able to maintain decent FPS. What kind of games do you enjoy? If you're into third-person games, a higher resolution will make those visuals pop. And don’t forget to choose a monitor with a good refresh rate!

I'd definitely go for 1440p. The 9060 XT can handle it pretty well, and you can even consider an ultrawide if you're looking for an immersive experience. With your setup, you should be looking at around 60 FPS on high settings at 1440p, and using FSR can help if you run into any performance issues.

1440p is the way to go! I've got a similar setup, and 1440p is fantastic. With high settings and FSR upscaling, even demanding games like Cyberpunk run great—I'm getting around 69 FPS on high settings. Plus, you'll appreciate the improved visuals compared to 1080p.
