I've been having some issues with my iMac, so I've started leaving it on constantly and just putting the monitor to sleep when I'm not using it. I'm wondering if this is harmful for the computer in the long term or if it's built to handle being on all the time without any major effects. Should I be concerned?

It's actually designed to run like that, so there's no need to stress over it. Just keep it well-ventilated and it should be fine! You might want to restart or shut it down occasionally to keep things running smoothly, though.
As long as you’re just sleeping the monitor, it shouldn't hurt your iMac. A little downtime here and there with restarts can help, but leaving it on isn’t typically an issue.
