Is My 4K Monitor Losing Signal Due to a GPU or Monitor Issue?

I've got a 4K 144Hz monitor that keeps losing signal shortly after I log into Windows, while a secondary 1080p 60Hz monitor connected differently doesn't have this problem. The 4K monitor is hooked up via DisplayPort and the other one through DisplayPort to HDMI. After about a minute of use, the 4K monitor seems to disconnect, but Windows still recognizes it as connected. The only way to fix it is by unplugging and re-plugging the DisplayPort cable either on the monitor or the GPU. I have an RTX 4070, and I've tried several DisplayPort cables and different GPU ports, but the issue persists. This has only started happening recently, and it makes me wonder whether the problem lies with the monitor or the PC itself. Any advice would be appreciated!

I had a similar issue where my monitor would lose signal too! For me, unplugging it altogether was the only way to reconnect. It might be a software compatibility hiccup rather than a faulty monitor, which is super frustrating. You might want to check if your drivers are up to date, especially if you're using an NVIDIA card. Sometimes, the drivers don't initialize correctly during boot.

Are you also using an RTX card? That could play a role in how the drivers respond at startup, which might explain why it happens after being logged in for a minute.
