Should I Upgrade My Dell OptiPlex 7060 or Build a New PC?

I'm currently using a Dell OptiPlex 7060 with an i5-8500, and I'm pondering whether it makes more sense to upgrade this machine or build an entirely new system with a Ryzen 5 5500 and a GTX 1080. If I choose to upgrade, I'd likely need to use some PSU adapters, which I'm a bit unsure about. On the other hand, if I opt for a new build, I could reuse the RAM and storage from the OptiPlex, but I'd still need to shell out some cash for new components. Anyone have thoughts on which path is better?

It really depends on what you want and your budget. For $400, going with a new build sounds appealing, especially since you can use parts from your OptiPlex. It might be more future-proof as well. Just be cautious about the PSU situation if you decide to upgrade the OptiPlex - those adapters can be hit or miss!

Yeah, I'd stick with the new build. Just be sure to check for compatibility with any parts you're reusing!
