I'm considering buying a Ryzen 7700 and a 9070 XT graphics card soon, but I want to know if this combination is a good idea. Will they work well together for gaming or productivity tasks?

You might want to think about a 9600X plus the 9070 XT instead. The performance is comparable, but the 9600X has two fewer cores which might save some power. But if you really like the 7700, it's still a decent option!
Seriously though, how is that even good advice? The difference isn't that dramatic!
I've got a 9700X paired with the 9070 XT, and I can say it's been working great for me!
Absolutely, the Ryzen 7700 will work just fine with the 9070 XT! It's a solid combo for gaming and productivity alike.
Yes, this pairing is solid! Just keep in mind what you'll really be using it for. If you're primarily into productivity, the 7700 is a great choice. For more balanced tasks, you could consider the 9600X or even the 9700X for better efficiency. If gaming is your main focus, though, splurging on a 7800X3D would give you more bang for your buck, although it does come at a higher price.
But doesn’t the 7700 have a reasonable power draw like the 9600X and 9700X?
Even at 4K 144Hz, my old 5700X does fine, so for resolutions like 1440p at higher refresh rates, you'd likely prefer the 7700X or 9700X for even better performance without overheating.

But is the 7700 still a strong choice for gaming?
