Looking to Upgrade My GPU: GTX 1060 to What?

I'm considering an upgrade for my aging GPU; currently, I have a GTX 1060. I'm using a Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and an MSI B650 Gaming Plus motherboard. Even though my CPU and RAM are doing fine, my GPU is definitely what's holding me back.

I'm on a budget, so I can't go for the latest high-end cards like the RTX 5070 Ti. I've been eyeing the non-XT RX 9070 as a more budget-friendly option. There's also a used RTX 4070 Super available locally, which is intriguing.

I have a couple of questions: Is the RX 9070 (non-XT) a decent upgrade from the GTX 1060, or would it be better to aim higher? And at what price would it make sense to buy a second-hand RTX 4070 Super instead of getting the RX 9070 or even saving for a newer card?

Both the RX 9070 and the RTX 4070 Super would be a significant upgrade from your GTX 1060. For a budget-friendly option, I'd recommend keeping the RTX 4070 Super under $500 since you could get the faster RTX 5070 for around $550. That makes it an attractive deal if you find it for a good price.

Jumping from a GTX 1060 to either the 9070 or the 4070 Super would yield a big performance boost. It might be worth considering some mid-range options like the RX 9060XT or the RTX 5060 Ti too. By the way, sharing local pricing could help us give you more tailored advice on price-to-performance ratios.

I live on an island, so I need to order from the Netherlands. The cheapest RTX 5070 I've found is $630; the RTX 4070 Super is listed at $500 second-hand, while the RX 9070 costs about $740.
