I'm considering changing my GitHub username from AyanCBLUE to my full name. Currently, I have 10 repositories, with four being my own and the others forked for learning purposes. I'm curious if this name change might affect my job search. Does having a certain username matter when employers look at my GitHub profile?

Changing your username is simple! Just go to your account settings and look for the option to change your username. It’s pretty straightforward.
Your username is actually the first impression people get, especially in professional contexts. If it reflects your real name, that could be beneficial. Just make sure it’s professional enough. If you're doubtful, you might want to think about creating a new account instead.
For me, my GitHub is more personal and showcases my interests. I’ve never handed it out for professional reasons. If someone wants to see my work, I’d rather direct them to a proper portfolio instead of my entire GitHub. Sometimes, I even clean up my commit history before sharing.
Honestly, I’ve never landed a job purely because of my GitHub. It’s more about the projects and skills you show, rather than the username.
