I've recently upgraded my internet plan to 2400 Mbps, but I'm only hitting speeds of around 30 Mbps. I've tried various improvements, like getting a new SSD and using a mesh router connected to my PC via Ethernet. I live with four other family members, so I know I won't get the maximum speeds, but this just seems too slow. Could my PC's antenna be the issue? I found a WiFi 7 antenna for my motherboard after doing some research, but I'm not sure if that's relevant.

How far is your PC from the router? And how many walls are in between? Even if it’s just a few, that can really impact WiFi speeds. If the walls are causing issues, you'd think the Ethernet should help... as long as there's no other interference.
First things first, how are you measuring your speeds? If you're testing while connected directly to the Ethernet and still getting 30 Mbps, that likely rules out your antenna as a problem. Make sure you're using a reliable speed testing site.
When I download games, I too get around 30 Mbps. That speed sounds low for a setup with your upgrades.
Just a thought: have you tried plugging directly into the main router? Even if it's far away, that would give you the best idea of what's going on. It might be useful to know if it's the location or the router affecting speeds.
I only check download speeds when downloading games, and I often do a speed test to confirm. Sometimes, the Mbps can go up to around 100 if I connect directly to the main router over WiFi!

It's about 3-4 rooms away, and I’d say maybe 1-3 walls between us, but not many. If walls are the cause, why wouldn’t my Ethernet fix things?
