I'm currently using an MSI B550 motherboard with a Ryzen 5 3600XT, 32GB of RAM, and an RX 5700 XT while gaming at 1440p. I've noticed that my CPU hits 100% utilization in nearly all games, whereas my GPU sits around 90%. It seems clear to me that upgrading my CPU would help, but with AMD discontinuing their X3D models, I'm looking for recommendations on a suitable upgrade that pairs well with my GPU. Right now, moving to an AM5 setup isn't an option for me.

Since your CPU is maxing out, it definitely sounds like an upgrade is in order. Any of the 5000 series CPUs would be good. While they are discontinued, the 5700X3D or 5800X3D are your top choices if you can find them at a decent price. If that's not feasible, the 5600X, 5700X, or 5800X are all solid alternatives! Just keep an eye on your performance drops during gaming; those 1% dips can really affect your experience.

Yeah, making sure you eliminate those drops is key! Upgrading the CPU should definitely help with that.
