Why isn’t my motherboard I/O shield fitting into the case?

Hey everyone! I'm currently in the process of building my PC with the MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, and I'm having some trouble fitting it into my Lian Li Lancool 216 case. It seems that the motherboard's preinstalled I/O shield is not compatible with the case's I/O shield. I tried to take the case's I/O shield off to check if it would fit better over the motherboard's shield, but the metal edges of the motherboard shield are preventing it from going in. I've even attempted to angle it for a better fit, but that hasn't worked either. Removing the case I/O shield seems like the only option, but I'd rather not have an open hole in the case. I apologize if this question has been asked multiple times, but the usual advice of just pushing harder doesn't seem to be feasible with the amount of metal in the way. I'm open to any suggestions, and let me know if you'd like to see some pictures to help with troubleshooting! EDIT: I've added photos here: https://imgur.com/a/ddf4Upt

This shouldn't be a problem since both your motherboard and case are standard ATX sizes. First, double-check that the motherboard standoffs are installed correctly in the case; sometimes, a missing or incorrectly placed standoff can cause alignment issues. Also, when you mentioned trying to fit the I/O shield after removing the case one, it could help to clarify what exactly seemed off. Don’t forget to share photos—they can really help diagnose issues more effectively!

The standoffs are definitely good; I think I see them almost aligning, but the case's I/O shield is blocking it. I'll post those pics now to illustrate the situation!
