Hey everyone! I feel a bit silly posting this, but I'm wondering if 406 GB of space is sufficient for my computer with a 512 GB SSD. I typically don't play any AAA games—just some lighter ones like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator and Ravenfield. I'm also conscious about not cluttering it with unnecessary files. I've been stressing about this for weeks—what if I run out of space? In the future, I plan to get an HDD for games, but right now I'm just curious if the 406 GB I have is adequate.

A 512 GB SSD will actually give you quite a bit of room if you manage your space wisely. It's a good idea to install only 1 or 2 games you’re currently into, and maybe keep the less played ones on a backup drive. And definitely use cloud storage for important files and avoid cluttering your C drive with photos and videos.
It's usually better to opt for a larger drive. Keep in mind, a 512 GB SSD is actually around 476 GB usable. For optimal performance, you’ll want 10-20% of that as free space for the SSD to manage itself, which leaves you closer to 300 GB after the OS. If you have any large programs or files, that will cut into your space even more. If you can swing it, a 1TB or 2TB SSD might be worth considering! They’re becoming really affordable these days.
Yeah, 406 GB should be plenty to start with! If you ever fill it up, just remember that adding more storage these days is pretty cheap and easy. But honestly, why are you so worried about it? Tormented? Really?
You should be good, but remember, it depends on your usage. It might be helpful to store most of your files on a separate drive to keep the C drive light and fast. 406 GB is more than enough for the OS and a few applications.
Definitely enough space! But hey, just a tip: avoid getting an HDD for gaming. They just don’t perform well compared to SSDs, especially for new games.
HDDs aren’t terrible for old games, but they do struggle with newer titles. Just keep that in mind!
