I'm on the hunt for a budget-friendly graphics card that can handle some of the more modern games out there. Specifically, I'm wondering if the RTX 3050 is a solid option or if anyone has better recommendations within my budget of around £200 to £250.

For your budget, you could definitely get an RTX 3070 Ti, which would outperform the 3050 by a lot. If you're looking for something a bit older, the used RTX 2080 is another solid choice for modern gaming.
To run modern games, I'd say the RTX 3070 or even the RTX 2080 would be ideal, especially if you're willing to shop used. The 3050 can handle some games at 1080p but expect to keep the settings low.
Thanks for your input!
Stick with the RTX 3070 Ti or even go for the 2080 Ti if you can find one. You'll be much happier with the performance for modern titles.
Honestly, I tried the RTX 3050 but returned it after a week. It struggled with games like Elden Ring and barely hit 20 FPS on Cyberpunk with balanced settings. You're better off getting something more powerful.
The RTX 3050 really isn't great value for money, especially compared to the newer options. I'd recommend looking at the RTX 5060 instead, which is around £280 and offers significantly better performance at 33% faster than the 5050. However, if that’s over your budget, you might want to consider other options.
Thanks for the suggestion!

3050 can run almost all the games at 1080p at low settings.
