Finding Windows 11 Compatible Motherboards for an LGA1151 Socket

I'm upgrading my old PC for a friend who needs it to run Windows 11 natively for playing Vanguard in League of Legends. My current setup has an Intel i5-8400, but the motherboard doesn't support TPM 2.0, which I discovered prevents Vanguard from running unless I use a workaround. I'm struggling to find suitable motherboards with LGA1151 that are ready for Windows 11. Any recommendations?

What motherboard are you currently using? Most 8th gen Intel processors, like the i5-8400, have a built-in TPM feature called Intel Platform Trust Technology (PTT). You can usually enable this directly in your BIOS settings, which could resolve your issue without needing a new motherboard.

You’re right that the i5-8400 supports TPM 2.0, but your motherboard might not have that option enabled. Check if your current board has a BIOS update that includes the Intel PTT option, which you can find under Security settings. If not, consider upgrading to a motherboard with the B365 chipset or newer, as they’re typically marked as Windows 11 ready. Boards like the ASUS PRIME B365M-A or MSI B365M PRO-VDH should work just fine.
