Hey everyone! I've come across a couple of second-hand graphics cards and I'm torn between the 4070s and the 6800XT. The details are as follows: I'm looking at the 4070s from Inno3D for $580 and the 6800XT for $430. The 6800XT has more VRAM, which is making me lean in that direction, but I'm also curious about which card is the better value overall considering their prices. Do I really need all 16GB of VRAM, or is 12GB enough? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I’d say go with the 6800XT! It’s cheaper and the extra VRAM can be beneficial for certain tasks, plus the performance difference isn’t huge compared to the 4070s, especially if you’re not into DLSS or ray tracing.
Have you thought about the 7800XT? It’s around $500 and might be a good middle-ground. But honestly, I get why you're looking at the 6800XT given the price gap with the 4070s. It’s a solid choice!
Honestly, either is a great option, but I’m also leaning towards the RX 6800 XT for the reasons you mentioned—better price, more VRAM, and close performance overall. Just depends on what you prioritize more!
If you're patient, you might find a 5060Ti 16GB for $430 or even a bit less. It's worth keeping an eye out for sales! But I agree, the 6800XT is a good pick if you're looking to save money right now.
Yeah, the price is definitely a factor! The performance is pretty similar to the 6800XT anyway, so I would stick with the cheaper option unless you’re really needing the features of the 4070s.
