Do I need to connect both CPU power connectors on my motherboard?

I'm building my first PC and have a question about connecting the CPU. My motherboard has two 4+4 CPU power connectors, and I'm using a Ryzen 5 7600X. Do I need to plug in both connectors? I've read that connecting both is mostly for extreme overclocking, which I'm not planning to do. Any advice would be appreciated!

If you've got all the necessary cables handy, it's a good idea to connect both. Sometimes boards are designed to run fine with one, but you might get random issues if you only plug in one and the manufacturer doesn't recommend it. Better safe than sorry!

I have them both, so I will be using them. Thanks!

If you have that extra cable, go ahead and connect it. It’s not going to hurt anything. But if you don’t have another, just using one will be perfectly fine since not all motherboards even have that second option.

Yes! I have it, thanks! I will be using it.

Honestly, the 7600X won't use more power than what a single 4+4 connector provides. The second connector is really just for extreme setups, so it's not necessary unless you're overclocking heavily.
