My PC Randomly Shuts Off, How Can I Diagnose the Issue?

Sometimes, my computer just turns off without any warning — no error screens or anything. I hear a faint click from the machine, and the screen goes black instantly. This mainly happens when I'm gaming, so I'm starting to think it might be a hardware problem. What steps can I take to identify what's causing this sudden shutdown?

Since you're not seeing a Blue Screen of Death, it could be a power supply issue. Those tend to cause sudden shutoffs without error messages. You might want to check your PSU's health or try to run a stress test on your system to see if that reveals any problems.

You should check the Windows Event Viewer for any errors or warnings that occurred around the time of the shutdown. This might give you some clues about what's going on. Just make sure to look through it thoroughly.

Have you checked if the fans are going crazy just before the shutdown? Sometimes overheating can lead to unexpected power cuts. If the fans sound normal, that's likely not the issue.

Since there aren’t any logs available, you might want to run a diagnostic tool to gather more system info. If it shows no errors, it could point towards a power issue. I've got a tool you can use: download it from the link I’ll provide, run it, and share the link it generates with us.
