I recently upgraded from an RTX 3080 to an RTX 5090 while using an R9 5900x CPU, playing with a resolution of 3440x1440. In Cyberpunk 2077, I was getting around 82 fps with mostly maxed-out settings and DLSS set to performance mode on the 3080. However, when I ran the same settings on the 5090, I only got 92-96 fps, and my CPU usage was around 40%. Even with DLSS turned off, my GPU hit 100% usage, but my CPU stayed at 40% with almost the same fps. Could this indicate a CPU bottleneck? I'm trying to understand why I see such a small performance increase and what my next steps should be. Thanks for any insights!

Yes, it looks like your CPU might be holding you back. Many games don't utilize all cores effectively, leading to a performance gap with high-end GPUs. Upgrading to a more powerful CPU like the R7 9850x3d could help.

That makes sense. I was surprised by how little improvement I got with the 5090, but upgrading to the 9850x3d should solve the issue soon!
