Why Are My RTX 4060 Fans Running at Full Speed?

I recently bought a new RTX 4060 MSI Ventus 2X, but I'm having an issue where one of the fans is constantly running at maximum speed. I've tried using Afterburner and the NVIDIA app to adjust the fan speeds, but nothing seems to work. I've also uninstalled old drivers, rolled back to previous versions, and even reinstalled Windows 10 and 11, yet the problem persists. I tested the card in two different PCs; in one, it behaved the same way, while it worked fine in the other. I'm concerned it won't show the issue when I take it back for warranty service. My setup includes an ASRock B550M Pro SE motherboard paired with a Ryzen 5 5600G and an EVGA 650BQ PSU.

Have you used DDU to completely remove old drivers? Doesn't matter what your last card was; it's a good idea to ensure a clean install. If you haven't tried it yet, I definitely recommend doing that.

Yes, I used DDU after switching from a 1070, but still, after a few minutes, one of the fans goes to 100%, while the other behaves normally. I suspect it could be a broken sensor or fan cable.

If the card is faulty from the start, just return it to the store for a replacement or refund. No need to deal with the hassle of an RMA since it's brand new.

I'll be heading to the shop tomorrow to see if I can get an exchange. Fingers crossed it acts up while they're testing!
