How Do I Install a PCIe WiFi Card on My Motherboard?

Hey folks! I've been struggling with my internet connection because my cheap USB WiFi adapter keeps disconnecting. I've heard that getting a PCIe WiFi card could be a much better solution. The issue is, my motherboard is a bit smaller (it's an MSI PRO A620M-E), and I'm not sure if the slot under my GPU is suitable for a full-size card. Can anyone give me guidance on how to proceed with this installation? Also, if you have any recommendations for good PCIe WiFi cards, I'd really appreciate it!

The size of the PCIe bracket (full vs half height) is relevant to your case, not the electrical compatibility. Don’t worry; most WiFi cards actually run on a 1x lane, which generally fits in any PCIe slot. Just check your motherboard’s specifications to confirm how many lanes your slots support, which are usually marked as 16x, 8x, 4x, or 1x. Most WiFi cards should work perfectly in those!

I checked my slots, and they're 16x!
