I'm trying to figure out the best way to format phone numbers when adding them to my contacts. I've come across several formats, like: 12223334444, 1-222-333-4444, 1 222 333 4444, 1 (222) 333-4444, and +1-222-333-4444. There are so many different styles out there! What's considered the best standard practice for entering phone numbers?

If you're in the US, the canonical format according to ITU-T E.123 is "+1 234 567 8910". It’s universal and avoids any dialing issues when you're traveling. Plus, it makes it easier for others when sharing your number!
For me, I just enter the full 10 digits. My phone takes care of the rest when dialing. I find it unnecessary to include the '1' or any special characters since it complicates things when entering online.
I think it really depends on where you live and what your needs are. Personally, I like to keep it simple with just 123.456.7890. Makes it easy to type and read!
Totally agree! Simplicity is key. Plus, many apps will auto-format numbers for you anyway.

That format is great for international use but honestly, my iPhone handles the formatting automatically if I just enter the 10 digits.
