Why is my keyboard polling rate stuck at 160 Hz despite being set to 2000 Hz?

I recently purchased an Attack Shark X68 PRO HE keyboard, which is advertised with a polling rate of 8000 Hz. However, when I test the polling rate, it only shows an average of 160 Hz, with a peak around 1667 Hz, even though I've set it to 2000 Hz in the keyboard software. I don't really need 8000 Hz since my PC isn't super high-end, but the low average is noticeable and annoying. I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including:

- Factory resetting the keyboard's software settings.
- Testing different polling rates (1000, 4000, 8000).
- Plugging it into various USB ports.
- Switching between wired and wireless connections for testing.
- Restarting my PC.
- Reinstalling the USB root hub via device manager.
- A lot of research online.

Despite all this, I continuously get "Unstable" Hz results in tests. I'd appreciate any suggestions for potential fixes!

It sounds like your keyboard is having a bit of trouble. Have you tried using it in QMK mode? Some users find that it performs better and might help stabilize the polling rate. Also, make sure all your drivers are updated just in case. Sometimes, it's just a matter of compatibility issues between the keyboard and your system.

I agree! QMK can definitely help with stabilization. Just remember, it's not a guaranteed fix since it sounds like the issues might be deeper in your setup.

I had similar issues with another brand before. You might want to check if there are any firmware updates available for your keyboard. Also, sometimes just changing the USB port can help due to how power is managed on some systems. If all else fails, reach out to customer support for assistance, they might have some specific fixes for your model!
