Advice Needed: Which GPU Should I Choose for My Son’s PC Build?

I'm putting together a PC for my son using a mix of new and used parts. The build includes an Asus Rog Strix z590 ITX motherboard, an Intel Core i5-11600k processor, 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, a 2TB M.2 Gen 4 SSD, and a Corsair CX-M CX750M Bronze PSU. The case is a Lesooy MATX, which can accommodate a GPU up to 250mm. I'm looking at three graphics cards: the 3070 8GB for $279, the 5050 8GB for $260, and the B580 12GB for $290. My budget for the GPU is $300. Can anyone recommend which one I should go for?

Definitely go for the 3070. It's around 30% faster than both the 5050 and B580! Unless you’re gaming at higher graphics settings that need more than 8GB of VRAM, the 3070 is the better choice overall.

The 5050 and B580 are new, while the 3070 is refurbished from Newegg, so that’s something to keep in mind.

I've got the Onix Lumi, which is the B580 you're considering. It's super quiet and tends to stay cool under load, plus it has more VRAM for future-proofing. However, while it does well at 1440p, the 3070 outperforms it at 1080p. The 5050 isn't worth it compared to these two.

I'd recommend the 3070! It runs everything smoothly at 1080p, with max settings at 60fps easily.
