Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a dilemma over which CPU to get for my new gaming build focused on World of Warcraft. I'm currently on an i7 7700K with a Strix 3070, but I want to upgrade before my third child arrives this November. I've been seeing prices in Australia at $729 for the 7800X3D and $879 for the 9800X3D. Is the extra $150 worth it for the 9800X3D, especially since I've had my current setup for about 8 years? I plan to eventually upgrade my GPU too when prices drop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, the 7800X3D should be plenty for your needs. I snagged one and noticed barely a 5% difference in most games compared to the 9800. If you're not planning to push it hard, the 7800X3D should serve you well!
I'd go for the 9800X3D. You don't want to regret missing out on the extra performance later on. It's better to spend a little more now for the best option available.
Get the 9800X3D if possible. It brings a nice boost in performance in WoW; I’ve seen many players enjoy smoother gameplay with it.
True, but remember that WoW can be quite CPU-intensive, especially during raids. It might be worth considering the 9800X3D if you're playing competitively.
