Hey everyone, I came across a MacBook Pro M1 on eBay for just 150€. It has 16GB of RAM and everything seems to work fine, but it's MDM locked and the original company is no longer around. I'm wondering if there's any way to permanently remove the MDM lock. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Honestly, it’s just not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend buying any device that's MDM locked.

Why not consider installing Linux on it? That might give you some options, though it wouldn't remove the MDM lock.

Couldn’t you just buy a new mainboard and replace it?

You can bypass MDM locks, but you can't fully remove it unless you can get in touch with the IT department of the original company, which might be impossible.

Sadly, if it's MDM locked, there's a good chance it's basically unusable, or 'bricked'. You might consider selling off parts like the display or keyboard instead.

What do you mean by 'bricked'? I've seen videos that show ways to bypass the lock with some commands.

Nope, you won't be able to remove the MDM lock permanently. If there were a way to do it easily, that MacBook would be worth a lot more than 150€!
