Hey everyone! I'm planning to build my very first Home Theater PC (HTPC) to replace my modified PS3. I'm looking to keep my budget between $700 and $800 USD and will be running Linux on it. I won't need any extra peripherals since I'll be buying everything from Amazon. Any feedback on my build would really be appreciated!

Hey! Just a heads up, your selected CPU doesn't have an integrated GPU, so you'll need a dedicated graphics card to get video output. If you're set on the Ryzen 5 3600, you might want to rethink your GPU options for this build.
If you're keen on AMD, that's great, but Intel might be worth a look for HTPCs thanks to Quicksync, which is great for video encoding. I use an Intel i3-12100F for my setup, and it works like a charm for running everything smoothly.
What do you plan to do with your HTPC? If you’re mainly watching movies and using some emulators, that should be fine. But if you're doing heavy tasks, the specs might need adjustment!
I'll mainly use it for watching and ripping DVDs, plus some retro gaming emulators like PS3 and GameCube.
When you're finalizing your parts, double-check that all the pricing is correct and that everything is compatible. Don't limit yourself to just Amazon; check out places like MicroCenter and Newegg too since they often have great deals on the same components.
I'd suggest considering the Ryzen 5 5600 series instead of the 3600. Some users have reported issues with the 3600 related to BSOD when switching power modes. Just a heads-up since I've faced that before!

Thanks for that! I actually switched to a cheaper build that has integrated graphics.
