How to Update a Stored Sony Smart TV After 2 Years?

I have a Sony KD43X85J Smart TV that's been sitting in storage for nearly two years. I'm hoping that once I unpack it, I can just connect it to Wi-Fi and let it update automatically. Is this a realistic expectation? What can I do to avoid potential issues during the update process?

Just connect your TV to Wi-Fi and check for updates. If it hasn’t been updated in a while, it should still be able to catch up. Just keep an eye out for any issues while it does.

If you're worried about updates, you could also consider using a streaming box like Roku or Apple TV. They’re a great way to bypass the need for updates entirely.

My only affordable option is to cast my Chromebook to the screen—will that work without the updates?
