My PC Freezes and Crashes with a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Error

Hey everyone! I've been having a really frustrating issue with my PC. For the past couple of days, it's been freezing randomly while I'm watching YouTube and playing some light games. Even when it freezes, I can still move the mouse, but then it eventually crashes to a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) showing a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. I had to do a hard reset because the audio went all weird. I've got some minidump files that might help, and here are my specs:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core at 4.50 GHz
- Motherboard: GIGABYTE X670 GAMING AX
- Storage: 931 GB SSD in an AMD-RAID Array
- RAM: 32.0 GB (31.1 GB usable)
- GPU: ASUS DUAL OC NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (8 GB)

I would really appreciate any help or guidance on this!

That error usually points to a memory issue too, but it doesn't necessarily mean the RAM is at fault. With your setup, the page file can also come into play. You mentioned having an AMD RAID setup for your OS drive—if that’s misconfigured, it might be causing the crash. Updating your RAID settings or checking the health of your drives could help. It’s kind of tricky since low-priority data can confuse the system, making the issue look like it’s RAM-related when it might not be. Just a thought!

I'll definitely consider checking the RAID. I think it might have set up a legacy array, which seems off.

It sounds like you're dealing with some kind of memory issue based on those dump files. It could be RAM related, but remember, memory also includes data from storage. Since your BIOS is in beta, it's a good idea to update it to the stable version F40. If you've overclocked or undervolted anything, like the RAM, try resetting that too. For testing, try running your machine with just one stick of RAM at a time. If one stick causes crashes, you've found the problem. If both do, it might be the CPU. Just keep in mind that memory testers can miss some faulty RAM, especially with the newer DDR4. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll check the sticks and BIOS update this weekend.
