Hey everyone! I'm trying to find some alternatives to Windows Task Scheduler for my organization because we're currently dealing with around 200 scheduled tasks mostly running .exe files. The main issue is that managing these tasks has become a hassle; the interface is slow and tricky to work with, especially when we need to recreate tasks across different systems. We also encounter a lot of task failures without enough useful information for troubleshooting, which is frustrating. I'm looking for a more robust scheduling or orchestration tool that offers better logging, clearer failure details, easier management of numerous tasks, multi-user support with permissions, and a comprehensive audit trail. Any suggestions for tools that could meet these needs?

Check out JS7 from SOS Berlin. It can handle task scheduling across any OS and scale endlessly, but be aware that it might be a bit complex, so there will be a learning curve.
An RMM tool could definitely fit your requirements. I like Action1; it's free for up to 200 devices and quite affordable afterwards. They also offer to sign a BAA if that's necessary for you. It’s a solid choice!
Action1 is actually free for up to 200 endpoints now, and it's a fantastic product.
I recommend looking into remote monitoring management (RMM) solutions. Something like NinjaOne might be suitable if you need something larger, or you could try the open-source option NetLock RMM depending on your needs.
Have you tried Windmill.dev? It's pretty cool for task management and scheduling.
Consider using Azure Automation Account with a Hybrid worker. It's designed to help manage tasks at scale and may provide the features you're looking for.

I have a feeling we'll see an influx of Action1 fans chiming in soon!
