Hey folks! I'm working with a Ryzen 9 7900 (non-X) on an MSI Tomahawk X870 motherboard, and I've got 96GB of DDR5 5600 CL46 RAM from Crucial. I've been running into a strange issue where about one out of three boots, the system is laggy and stuttery. The only reliable way to resolve it is to perform a complete shutdown and restart; restarting doesn't always do the trick. I've already updated the BIOS and turned off Memory Context Restore. Based on some troubleshooting from ChatGPT, I've adjusted various voltages, enabled EXPO, and tweaked several settings. My symptoms include: lag on cold boots, inconsistent fixes with restarts, and full shutdowns being the only effective solution. I'm wondering if these issues are normal with 96GB on AM5, if I should reduce to 5200 MHz for better stability, and if there are specific voltages or timings that I need to adjust further. Has anyone had similar experiences or managed to stabilize 5600 MHz with this setup? Thanks for any insights!

Have you tried disabling the EXPO/XMP profile? It might help with the stuttering you're experiencing. Also, after that, test your system to see if it improves. Sometimes straightforward settings adjustments can make a big difference.
Dropping the RAM speed can definitely improve stability. If your system runs well at 5200, it’s a good route to take while you figure out the settings to maintain 5600. If you do go back to 5600, it’ll require some tweaking on the voltages, but I’m no expert on those specifics.
