Is Upgrading to AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D Worth It for Better FPS Consistency?

I'm currently using an Intel i5-14400F, and while I achieve decent frame rates in games, my 1% lows are pretty terrible. My FPS fluctuates a lot, especially in CS2. Would it make more sense to switch to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D along with a new motherboard to improve my gaming performance?

Honestly, I'm not sure a CPU upgrade is the solution here. The i5-14400F should handle CS2 pretty well. What are your other specs? Like RAM and GPU?

I see your point, but don’t forget that AMD’s 3D V-cache can really help with maintaining more consistent frames, especially noticeable in low 1% scenarios. Intel does generally pull ahead in pure FPS, but if you're looking for stability, that switch might just be worth considering. Have you looked at upgrading other components first?
