I recently purchased a prebuilt gaming PC from Costco, featuring an MSI Aegis gaming desktop with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X and GeForce RTX 5080. Although I planned on upgrading some components, I found I couldn't get the individual parts cheaper than the sale price of $2099. I upgraded the motherboard from an MSI Pro B840-VC WiFi to an MSI Pro X870-P WiFi to fully utilize the Ryzen 9's cores.
Now, my question revolves around the power supply unit (PSU). It currently has a non-modular 850W gold PSU. I'm considering sticking with it for about a year and then replacing it with a 1000W modular PSU. I'm aware that a bad PSU can risk damaging my GPU, so I'm unsure about what to do next. Should I keep the current PSU, or is it wise to upgrade it sooner?

You don't necessarily need to rush into replacing the PSU just because it's non-modular. Unless you're experiencing issues with it, there's no major reason to replace it right now. If you're looking for a performance boost in gaming, you might want to consider upgrading your CPU to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D instead. It performs 25% better in CPU-limited games!
What's the brand of your PSU? If it's listed as MSI 850W non-modular gold, it's generally reliable. Just check for any issues, but it should serve you well for now.

All I can find is that it's an MSI 850W non-modular, but I opened up the PC and couldn't find any additional markings on it, just a plain black box.
